“He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.”
Today’s Message
This powerful verse by Apostle Paul highlights the personal and corporate power of spiritual gifts—especially speaking in tongues and prophecy. When you speak in tongues (a heavenly language given by the Holy Spirit), you edify—build up—yourself. It’s like charging your spiritual battery, refreshing your soul, and aligning your spirit with God’s will.
Paul emphasizes that while prophecy builds the church community, speaking in tongues strengthens the individual believer. It is not meaningless babble—it is divine communication that activates your spirit man, releases mysteries, and stirs up boldness and faith.
Tongues are a gift of power and intimacy, not just for emotional expression, but for supernatural alignment. When you pray in the Spirit, you are engaging heaven in ways your mind cannot grasp—but your spirit is being edified, empowered, and refreshed.
